Laying Fundamentals
Previous preparation: In order to achieve the best uniformity in the colors of the decks or solarium, it is recommended to make a suitable selection and/or distribution of the pieces, as it is suggested in the guidelines for the art of floor laying.
Laying: For the best positioning of the pieces, the following mixtures are suggested:
- ½ (half) part of ordinary cement (CP 40 type)
- Ø 1 (one) part of hydrated lime
- Ø 4 (four) parts of sand
Bonding Adhesive:
Initial cleaning: Previous to the application of the bonding adhesive, the dust on the lower side of the decks and/or solarium should be removed with a plastic or root brush.
Application of cement grout: In order to obtain a suitable adhesion, it will be essential, before positioning the piece, to paint the lower side of the pieces with a thick cement grout until forming a layer of approximately 2 or 3 mm, made up from the following bonding adhesive:
- 2 (two) parts of ordinary cement (CP 40 type)
- 1 (one) part of water
- Instead of cement-water, it could be used an adhesive for ceramic (Klaucol type) - water
It could also be added some adhesive admixture (Tacurú type)
The pieces should be laid before the bonding adhesive dries.
It is essential to hydrate the piece as much as it were necessary before painting it with the cement grout to avoid the that the bonding dehydrates abruptly. This should be achieved without soaking the piece with water.
Rough lower side: The rough aspect of the deck and/or solarium lower side, is due to the brushing specifically made during the manufacture process, in order to obtain the best adhesion when it is placed.
Slope: The decks and solarium should slope down towards the outer part of the swimming pool, in order to allow a correct draining of the water. In order to generate that slope, the deck lower side should be raised 1.5 cm, measured vertically regarding the vertical line of the wall of the swimming pool.
When placing the 3 pieces deck set for corners with 50 cm of radio, the positioning with the mentioned slope should be started as off of these pieces and they should be installed in a perfect compatible way, in both the junctures and upper side.
Joints: Pool decks and solarium should have joints at least 1.5 cm apart .
Filling: The filling of the joints should be carried out with our joint filler “Culzoni Swimming pools”, specially designed for this kind of pieces since unlike the grout it does not crack due to its non-heat conducting condition.
Level of the Joints: The level of the joints should be 3 or 4 millimeters lower than the upper side of the decks and/or solarium. It is recommended to avoid plain joints.
Level of the Joints between the vertical plane of the concrete pieces and the deck:
The difference in the level of these joints should be approximately 7 millimeters under (buña). A mortar of cement and sand will be used, ratio: 1:2 + additive
IMPORTANT: When removing the pieces from the pallets, they could show a different color due to the normal condensation caused by the packing. After 15 days of the installation, the color will be unified.
